About Robert Betancourt Jr.

Robert has been a teaching professional for six years with the South Florida Golf Academy at the Palm Aire Resort in Pompano Beach, Florida. He is also a mini-tour player in Florida. Robert has conducted golf schools, golf clinics, private lessons as well as 10 minute lessons. His teaching method is simple, sound and successful. He can explain any aspect of the golf swing for everyone from the high handicappers to the low handicappers.

Robert has gone the extra mile to research and study the top players and teachers to learn any tidbit of information that helped him become first a better player and thus a better teacher. For example, he has studied and analyzed, in detail, the swings of many top players such as Bobby Jones, Ben Hogan, Sam Snead, Byron Nelson, Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Freddie Couples and other top players. At the same time, he has spent countless hours studying and listening to top teaching professional philosophies and methodologies of Bob Toski, Jim Flick, Tom Welz and others.

Robert believes that how one handles that knowledge must be equally important also. Robert understands that there is not only one way to play the game of golf. He knows how to take the student’s strengths and limitations and work within those boundaries. He has fundamentals that support his teaching. Fundamentals that are well supported by those players and teachers mentioned above.

Robert's Philosophy

All golfers need "three intangibles" in order to take their golf game to a new level:

1. Desire
2. A better understanding and awareness of his/her golf swing
3. A Plan

Robert teaches every student to better understand his or her own golf swing; learn how to fix and manage their swing; and understand the principles of ball spin and trajectory then he devises a plan which is designed for your particular needs.
